We can always find something else for ourselves to do. To do lists are never cleared. Inboxes are never empty. We have not read everything on our Facebook feed. Something in the house can be cleaned. We could do another load of laundry.
But we should remain mindful that we give ourselves a break - a break from doing, a break from completing, a break from actioning, a break from feeling that pull to avoid remaining present.
For there is always a chance that today may be our last. And if it is, do we really care if the laundry is done? We must allow ourselves stillness in each day, time to spend with nothing more than our breath and whatever fleeting thoughts enter and leave an open-door mind.
Do less. Be more.
