About Josh
A Raleigh native, I value the comfort in my roots and feel lucky to raise my family here.
I started my career in public accounting as a practicing CPA, helping clients with complex business challenges. Though I motivating teams, serving clients, I knew I didn't want the bulk of my responsibilities to reside in accounting, despite my knack for numbers. It was here where I leveraged this experience to build a foundational understanding of business operations that fueled my comfort level as an entrepreneur.
In 2013, I joined Vaco, a global recruiting and consulting firm, where 10 years later, I lead the Raleigh market as Managing Partner, with P&L responsibilities while serving as the office's top producer since 2015, finishing top 10 overall among 500+ producers globally in four of the last six years. We help growth companies with talent solutions - we have a best-in-class project delivery model, outsourced accounting, finance, HR, and IT consulting, and can build your full-time team. I have a proven track record of developing high-performers.

In 2020, I founded Beyond Basketball (formerly Alley Oop Hoops), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization preparing youth for when the ball stops bouncing, through mentorship of student-athletes, improving access and programming in the areas of financial literacy, STEM, entrepreneurship, career readiness, community involvement, and wellness - both physical and mental. I am an active participant in the local business ecosystem as well, as an active member of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, CED, NCACPA, and the start-up community. In 2019, I founded LMH Capital, named after my two sons Liam and McDaniel, with investment focus in early-stage growth companies.
